Why are there 2 types of resveratrol and which one should I take?
Resveratrol comes in 2 forms, or more correctly isomers. This is a natural phenomenon and occurs with many other compounds. Usually only one of the isomers is active because of the way it interacts with proteins in the body. The active form of resveratrol is the 'trans' form, commonly referred to as t-resveratrol. The other form is 'cis' and is not active in promoting health benefits. LiXiR® contains 100mg of trans-resveratrol per capsule.
There are cheaper t-resveratrol supplements out there, why is LiXiR® more
expensive?
Not all t-resveratrol supplements are made equally. LiXiR® guarantees that the content of each capsule contains the stated quantities of t-resveratrol. LiXiR® is an all natural product and contains no animal products. The shell is made from Vegicaps® (a plant based gelatin material) and is safe for consumption by vegetarians and others who cannot consume animal based products.
